Kaiser's new CKN modular connection is the strongest tool connection for light weight tools. CKN utilizes a high clamping force and three-screw connection between steel connectors and aluminum couplings, which allows for high torque transmission on large, modular tool assemblies. The new system offers weight reductions up to 50% with equal cutting performance compared to tool combinations made solely of steel. This weight reduction allows for better machine performance, easier handling, and eliminates manual tool changes in many instances. The new CKN connection is almost 100% compatible with the existing KAB system.
The recently expanded lines of BIG-PLUS® and Capto tooling will also be on display. BIG-PLUS® expansions include extended gage lengths for Shell Mill Adapters and Shrink Fit Tool Holders. Capto expansions include Mega Micro and Shrink Fit holders, extended gage lengths for the Mega N and Mega E series, and additional styles of cartridges & holders for the turning program.
A new tool holder for rigid tapping, the Mega Synchro Tapping Holder, improves thread quality and tap life by compensating for synchronization errors up to 90% during rigid tapping by reducing the thrust load to both the tap and workpiece. This is facilitated through a unique mechanism which absorbs the pitch difference between the tap and synchronous spindle. The Mega Synchro is capable of supplying coolant through slits to the tap periphery, and is available in a variety of lengths and spindle interfaces to suit any company's needs.
Also on display will be Speroni's newest benchtop tool presetter, the MAGIS. The MAGIS is an ergonomically designed system that has the following standard features included: Integrated Calibration Master, Pneumatic Axis Locks, X and Z Axis Fine Adjust, CCD Camera, and Integral ISO 50 Taper Spindle with Pneumatic spindle brake. The single-screen control (available with optional touch screen) is user-friendly allowing accurate tool measuring in minutes.
New Unilock starter kits allow users to plug the components immediately into their production cell, instantly eliminating setup time and increasing productivity. The clamping chucks in the Unilock kits are mounted to universal adapter plates, allowing them to be directly mounted into the cell for immediate use. The kit also contains universal pallets that allow the user to quickly attach and detach the positioning and clamping components used to hold that which needs to be exchanged in and out of the production cell.
