The Battery Council International (BCI) will host a Health, Safety, and Environment Technology Conference on March 3-4, 2008 in Shenzhen, China. Speakers include David Weinberg, Daniel P. Askin, Russell Kemp, and Jack Waggener. The program will cover pollutants of concern and an overview of standards, ensuring safe recycling to protect the worker and the environment, working safely with lead, a blood lead reduction program, and controlling environmental releases and emissions.

The Battery Council International (BCI) will host a Health, Safety and Environment Technology Conference on March 3-4, 2008 at the Sheraton Shenzhen Hotel, in Shenzhen, China. This new conference is part of BCI's commitment to providing the worldwide battery industry with environmental, worker safety and core information needed by plant professionals to immediately improve, organize and implement safety and environmental protection programs.
Speakers for this two day conference include: o David Weinberg, Esq., BCI's legislative and regulatory counsel, Wiley Rein LLC, Washington, DC o Daniel P. Askin, President & Technical Director, ESCA Tech, Inc, Milwaukee, WI o Russell Kemp, Principal, ENVIRON International Corporation, Atlanta, GA and o Jack Waggener Sr. Principal and Engineering Manager, URS Corporation, Franklin, TN
Hal Hawk, BCI President and President of Crown Battery Manufacturing will welcome the attendees to the conference. BCI Member company representatives will also participate in the program by providing real life examples of actual implementation and monitoring programs in their respective plants.
The program will cover pollutants of concern and an overview of standards, ensuring safe recycling to protect both the worker and the environment, working safely with lead, a blood lead reduction program, controlling environmental releases both water and solid waste and controlling environmental air emissions and releases.
BCI will also hold its biennial Environmental, Safety and Regulatory Conference on September 15-16, 2008 in Washington, DC.
