Aven Shares Microphotography and Other Content on Facebook

Aven, Inc. this week launched a Facebook social media presence as a new opportunity for conversations with professionals and others interested in optical instruments.

The global supplier's "Fan page" has microscopy photos and white papers with guidance on equipment selection and use. Fans can post photos or albums directly on the page.

"Our new online community is a place to share comments, questions, success stories and other shop talk," says Mike Shahpurwala, president of the Southeast Michigan manufacturer of microscopes, inspection systems, metrology (measurement) tools and other industrial-grade products. "It's also a convenient way for our North American distributors and representatives to interact.

"Prizes for innovative ideas and cool images captured with Aven systems will be part this engagement initiative," the executive adds. "And through March 2010, new fans are eligible for an iPod giveaway -- so it's a good time to join Aven on Facebook."

Facebook users can enter 'Aven, Inc.' (no quotes) in the search field.

An electronics innovator since 1983, Aven is located in a high-tech corridor of Southeast Michigan and is the parent company of SharpVue, which designs and manufactures integrated digital microscope technology.
