Automatically Meeting the Grade with Mettler-Toledo Garvens X-Grader

Automatic sorting and grading module to increase efficiency and profitability for food manufacturers

Mettler-Toledo Garvens has launched the X-Grader XG 300 in Asia, an automatic sorting and grading module that classifies individual food products such as poultry, fish and raw meat, according to weight zones. Easily integrated with all Mettler-Toledo checkweighers, the automated system eliminates manual sorting errors, accelerates the sorting process with speeds of up to 120 pieces per minute, and increases product hygiene. By improving production line efficiency, eliminating waste through decreasing sorting errors and reducing labour costs, the new grader will directly boost profitability levels for Asian food manufacturers.

By integrating the X-Grader into their production lines, manufacturers benefit from a streamlined and accurate process. The X-Grader classifies the product weight value received from the checkweigher for each individual product, and photo-electric sensors trigger the respective swing gate immediately at product arrival. The swing gates gently guide the products to lateral outlets, ensuring the appropriate handling and sorting of sensitive products. The X-Grader is independent from the checkweigher so vibrations caused by mechanical movements during the sorting process do not affect weighing accuracy.

All contact parts of the X-Grader feature food quality materials that are extremely stable, inert, and taint- and taste-free. This ensures that there is no potential for product contamination, which makes the X-Grader ideal for use in food processing and production.
