Streetsboro, OH - October 1, 2008 - Automated Packaging Systems, the leader in high-reliability packaging systems, is pleased to announce it has received its Food Safety Certification from AIB International, an independent international auditing organization. Automated Packaging Systems received a "superior" rating, the highest AIB audit rating achievable.
Driven by the food industry, AIB certification demands that rigorous quality control processes and programs be in place throughout the manufacturing environment to ensure contamination-free products for the food industry. As part of the audit requirements, Automated Packaging Systems had to demonstrate appropriate security measures, established cleaning and maintenance procedures, and stringent control of all incoming and in-process materials. The absence of food and drink at workstations, as well as the use of hair and beard nets are among the controls that contribute to the contamination-free environment. Additionally, positive air pressure in the manufacturing plant ensures prevention of contamination from small airborne particulate and insects.
Automated Packaging manufactures the plastic material and the finished poly bags for bags-on-a-roll and bag packaging systems that are used in food packaging and many other bagging applications.
