Austin Ramirez Rejoins Husco As Director of Strategic Planning And Business Development


Austin Ramirez who recently completed his MBA at Stanford's Graduate School of Business has rejoined HUSCO effective July 1, 2006. At commencement June 16, Austin was recognized as an Arjay Miller Scholar for outstanding academic performance.

Austin attended the University of Virginia and graduated June, 2001. At the University of Virginia he was an eleven time All-American in swimming and was recognized for a number of major awards including the Ralph Samson Leadership Award given to the outstanding third year male athlete, the Brooke Maury Award for Career Contributions to Virginia Swimming, and the Gus Tubell Award for the male graduating varsity athlete with the highest grade point average. He was a nine time ACC champion, the ACC Championship Meet MVP in 2000, a USA National Open Water Champion in 1998, a 5000 meter USA Team Gold Medalist at the 1998 FINA World Swimming Championship, and a Silver Medalist at the 1999 Pan American Games.

Ramirez worked for McKinsey & Company from 2001 to 2003 and for HUSCO from 2003 to 2004. He was a recipient of a Goldman Sachs Fellowship at Stanford and worked for Goldman Sachs between his first and second year of business school.

Austin is married to the former Heather Van Vugt who is completing her third year of law school at the University of Minnesota this fall.

Austin's new position at HUSCO will be Director, Strategic Planning and Business Development, and he will report to Mark Sefcik, Executive Vice President. In his new position, Austin will also work with Bob Mortensen in the development and execution of a new Global Manufacturing Strategy for HUSCO. He will also be responsible for developing strategies to penetrate new markets and establish new businesses through internal development and/or acquisition.
