Atmel Corporation and Ocular Announce Touch Solutions Collaboration

DALLAS, TX - Ocular LCD, Inc., leader in the high-tech touch solutions industry, today announced a collaboration program with Atmel Corporation, a leader in microcontroller and touch solutions. This collaboration provides designers in a variety of markets the choice of robust and high functionality touchscreen solutions for their applications. The Ocular® Crystal Touch: Multi-Touch product line, powered by Atmel® maXTouch(TM) technology, provides a family of capacitive touch panels designed for the next generation of touch enabled products. This program formalizes the technical cooperation and product development efforts that Ocular and Atmel have been engaged in for the past year.
Ocular's family of touch panels integrated with Atmel's maXTouch(TM) microcontrollers will provide the ability to add the true multi-touch function to devices in various industries and numerous applications. With the availability of 4.3", 7.0" and 10.1" panel sizes, more product applications will benefit from the upgraded look and feel that a touch panel provides. Many of the new applications for touch panels require true multi-touch functionality that allows for multi-touch stretch/pinch, rotate gestures and up to ten simultaneous touch points. Ocular provided Crystal Touch panels, powered by the Atmel maXTouch(TM) microcontroller, will meet these requirements as well as higher performance, better accuracy, faster response times and lower power consumption.
