High quality and productivity with powerful process control
Carlsbad, CA - October 26, 2009 - Asymtek, a Nordson company and leader in dispensing, coating, and jetting technologies, features conformal coating systems with productivity enhancements for manufacturers at every level of production from batch to high-volume in-line processing. These flexible, programmable, integrated coating and curing systems provide high quality, powerful process control, and precise application of conformal coating and IR/convection or UV curing. A choice of patented applicators allows systems to be configured to meet specific customer coating requirements. The result is cost savings and increased throughput and productivity. Asymtek personnel will be available at Productronica 2009, Munich, Germany, November 10-13, stand A2.339, to discuss conformal coating applications and solutions.
Productivity enhancements include laser fan width and viscosity control systems. Laser Fan Width Control provides closed-loop monitoring to automatically verify and adjust the fan width prior to and/or after the coating operation so the coating pass width remains constant. The Viscosity Control System maintains consistent temperature of conformal coating fluids and has a heated recirculating fluid circuit to eliminate viscosity changes in temperature-responsive materials. A Flow Monitor Module is available on some systems to confirm that products have been coated with the correct amount of material with a resolution of +/-0.05cc.
New for Productronica is the Fifth Axis Tilt (0 to 30 degrees) together with the Four Position Rotate (0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees) that provides Film Coater applicators with greater flexibility and increased access while conformal coating a printed circuit board. The tilt and rotate accessory is ideal for coating vertical surfaces and underneath components. It enhances access to tight or hard-to-reach areas that may not be achievable with the standard downward approach (0 degrees).
Featured at Productronica is the Select Coat® SL-940E high-speed, high-accuracy coating system with up to 30 percent faster throughput, a vision system, closed-loop process controls, traceability, and advanced integrated software. Advanced monitoring makes it easier to keep the coating process in control. Fluid and air pressures are set and monitored through software-controlled electronic regulators, allowing traceability for these critical parameters. Data logging and automatic adjustments of other parameters such as fan widths, fluid temperatures, and flow rates, further ensure the quality of the coating process.
The SL-940E uses Asymtek's Easy Coat for Windows® (ECXP) software which maximizes productivity, ease of operation, and accuracy. Together with an optional vision system they make teaching your coating program much easier. Pattern recognition software is also available.
