Abstracts can include, but are not limited to, discussions of AERMOD, discussions of CALPUFF, next generation modeling techniques, and regulatory application of models.

Air & Waste Management Association Issues Call for Abstracts for Air Quality Models Symposium
Pittsburgh, PA (January 20, 2009) The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) has issued a call for abstracts for "Guideline on Air Quality Models: Next Generation of Models," a symposium to be held October 26 - 30, 2009, in Raleigh, NC.
This symposium will provide a technical forum for environmental professionals including source owners, regulatory agencies, and consultants to discuss proposed revisions to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Guideline on Air Quality Models, the guideline that is required for use in the preparation of state implementation plans, federal construction permits, and state permits.
A&WMA is seeking abstracts that include, but are not limited to:
--Discussions of AERMOD: running experiences, comparisons to other models, comparisons to field data, theory and application, and modifications
--Discussions of CALPUFF: running experiences, comparisons to other models, comparisons to field data, theory and application, and modifications
--Next generation modeling techniques: descriptions on the experiences and uses of EDMS, CMAQ, ADMS, CAMx, TAPM, SCHIPUFF, HYROAD, UAM-V, and other advanced models for guideline consideration
--Regulatory application of models: issues with guideline implementation, new model training and software enhancements, legal issues and model accuracy with guideline use, and modeling for PM2.5 NAAQS and PSD increments
--Long-range transport issues: implementation of IWAQM procedures, new FLAG guidance, CALPUFF screening techniques, air quality related values, and cumulative EIS issues
--Meteorology: advances in "on-site" data collection, uses of prognostic models, use/limitations of ASOS in next generation models, experience with the use of turbulence data, and length of meteorological record
Abstracts of 300 words or less should be submitted for review online by April 24, 2009. Authors will be notified of acceptance by May 22, 2009.
