DUBLIN, June 7, 2011 - Arkeia Software, a leading provider of fast, easy-to-use, and affordable network backup solutions, today announced at the Red Hat EMEA Partner Summit successful certification of Arkeia Network Backup's solution for the protection of environments deployed on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization.
Arkeia Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
The deployment of a backup agent at the guest level of each virtual machine allows a file-level granular restore and the ability to perform hot backup of databases and application data. Arkeia has one of the widest agent platform support lists in the industry, and provides dedicated file-backup agents for over 200 platforms. Discounted pricing is available for backup agents installed on guest operating systems in virtualized environments.
Specialized backup agents are available for databases, applications, and directory servers running in virtual machines, including IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint and OpenLDAP.
Progressive Deduplication(TM) for Source-side Compression
Virtual environments have natural data redundancy because each virtual machine maintains its own copy of an operating systems and necessary applications. Arkeia's Progressive Deduplication eliminates this redundancy so backups of virtual environments complete faster and the resulting backup sets are more highly compressed, bringing savings in terms of bandwidth and backup storage.
Arkeia also offers a backup and disaster recovery solution for the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager.
