London, UK - March 27: ArcSight, Inc., a leader in Enterprise Security and Compliance Management solutions, today announced the expansion of its channel programme with a formal initiative to provide new benefits to channel partners. The ArcSight Connections Partner Programme is designed to help channel partners resell ArcSight's full range of security, compliance and networking solutions, enabling them to help their clients identify, prioritise and respond to security threats and network changes and comply with regulatory requirements.

The ArcSight Connections Partner Programme includes new formalised initiatives that help partners build mutually successful business opportunities. The programme offers products for Security, Network Integration and Compliance-centric solution providers. The comprehensive programme provides deal registration, renewal protection, a channel-neutral compensation methodology, sales training, marketing support and opportunities for professional services offerings.

With the recent release of its first security and networking solutions in an appliance form-factor, ArcSight is now offering channel partners access to a family of security and network solutions that enable their clients to automate and gain actionable intelligence from security and compliance processes, network response and configuration management. ArcSight's flagship Enterprise Security Management (ESM) platform, along with its new log management appliance, ArcSight Logger, ArcSight Threat Response Manager (TRM), and ArcSight Network Configuration Manager (NCM) appliances enable channel partners to help clients address the following challenges:

oRapidly increasing severity and urgency of security threats: Companies and government agencies need to identify, defend against, and remediate increasingly malicious security threats - whether against their network perimeter, or more frequently, from insider threats.

oBurden of audit and regulatory compliance: Extensive government regulations have dramatically increased compliance requirements for corporations and government agencies. There is also an increasing focus on internal audit requirements and IT governance. All of this has made it mandatory to track, manage and report on network and security operations including key applications, databases, operating system logs and more.

oConvergence of NOC and SOC: The line is blurring between the network operations center (NOC) and the security operations center (SOC). There is increased pressure on today's businesses to prevent more sophisticated and damaging security breaches, and more organisations are expected to do this on a tighter budget.

As part of this effort to expand its channel programme, Chris Peterson has joined ArcSight as Vice President, Worldwide Channels. Mr. Peterson is responsible for overseeing ArcSight's Channel and Alliance development in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He brings over 25 years of experience in the high-tech channel market to the company. Prior to joining ArcSight, Mr. Peterson led the design and execution of Secure Computing's channel strategy. He has also held several executive level positions at Network Associates, Radius, Sun Microsystems, and Compaq Computer. Mr. Peterson was named a "Top Channel Executive" by VAR Business Magazine in 2005.
