Applied Industrial Technologies Opens New 'Browse and Buy' Feature on Its Web Site

CLEVELAND, Feb. 21: Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE:AIT) has announced a functional update to its online catalog. Visitors to the www.Applied.com Web site are now able to search and order parts without prior registration or pre-approved account status. The updated Web site offers fast and easy part searching, product specifications, engineering drawings, and other technical resources. Pricing and availability information is available for nearly 500,000 parts. Online purchases are secure and the company accepts most major credit cards.

The new Web site offers simplified navigation with single-click access to 15 major product categories that include bearings, seals and o-rings, power transmission components, motors and controls, pneumatic and hydraulics, material handling parts, tools and general industrial supplies.

Enhanced product searching capabilities make it faster and easier to find replacement parts. Users may search for products by manufacturer, keyword, part number, partial part number, catalog page or individual part characteristics. A convenient comparison tool allows users to select multiple parts to compare on a single page. An innovative "You May Also Need" feature offers recommendations for complementary components that may also be required.

This industry leading online catalog offers all the benefits of local technical support, local service and local delivery from a network of more than 350 Applied service centers. Online orders contain information about potential same-day pick-up at a local service center and are confirmed by e- mail.

While site registration is no longer required for online purchases, registration is still available for customers who prefer advanced account management features like customer-specific part numbers, order history, advanced searching tools, technical calculators, credit terms, and opportunities for preferred pricing -- plus, access to a full selection of more than 2.5 million parts. Open account billing is available for all pre- approved customers.

"Our 'Browse and Buy' site brings online customer convenience to a practical business resource," explains Tom Armold, Vice President -- Product Management & Marketing for Applied.
