(Neenah, Wis.) - The ZDR(TM) anti-deflection roll from Webex, Inc., is specially designed to virtually eliminate roll deflection caused by external forces, without the need for roll crowning. While conventional nips create uneven pressure profiles that cause "gaps" at the center of the nip, the ZDR roll is designed to place the load of external forces on the shaft allowing the outer roll to maintain an even profile across the entire roll face. The result is a more consistent material profile that reduces lost material by as much as 20% in film casting and calendering operations. ZDR rolls can be engineered for heat transfer roll applications to provide exact temperature control.
