Press release date: September 14, 2008

Aldon Company, Inc. of Waukegan, Illinois introduces its new "Nine Lives" Wheel Wedge for chocking idle rail cars on storage tracks. The molded urethane chock is tough enough to hold a wheel against wind and uneven rails, but soft enough to allow the wheel to be pushed over the wedge when necessary. No need to bend down to remove the chock. A locomotive or Trackmobile can easily push the car wheel over the wedge without derailing. The chock is then ready to be used again.

The "Nine Lives" Wheel Wedge can take the place of oak wedges used to hold cars in place on spur tracks. The new chock should not, however, be used where cars are being loaded or unloaded -- steel chocks are best for such high-vibration situations.
