American Tool and Mold adds Operations Manager for Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)


Marshall Strang will oversee all LSR operations at American Tool & Mold.

Marshall is a highly experienced project engineer/manager and LSR tool maker, who has worked with some of the worlds largest and most respected brand names and manufacturers including Proctor & Gamble, Tyco, Becton Dickinson, General Motors, Cummins, Honeywell, Siemens, Jabil Circuit, General Dynamics, Takata Restraint Systems, Mahle Tennex, Smiths Medical and Baxter Healthcare. Marshall has held positions in new product development, LSR tool design, Computer Numeric Control (CNC) programming, and project engineering/management. His wide-ranging design and tooling experience in Liquid Silicone Rubber and thermoplastics enable him to take a project from concept to finished product. This experience has also allowed him to help customers with product design and development issues along the way, often catching potential issues before they become actual problems.

Marshall also has experience with semi-automatic low volume operations, as well as in designing full automation flash free high volume production systems to speed up production. 
Marshall has worked on a wide variety of LSR and thermoplastics projects including single component LSR parts, over molded components, and two shot products. Kitchen utensils, ear tubes, medical valves, engine seals, tactical face masks, thin wall diaphragms, light diffusers and optical grade lenses are a few examples of the range of projects in which he has participated.

As LSR Operations Manager, Marshall will be responsible for assisting sales with quotations as well as hands-on tooling design and fabrication, and part production. Marshall will personally monitor each project to ensure the best quality products are produced.
