American Hollow Boring Co quality program certified ISO 9001:2008 The ISO 9001:2008 quality system is a global standard of quality management. The company committed to becoming certified in order to serve our customers better.
Several factors drove the decision to attain certification. We realized we were doing more than 90% of the requirements of the ISO system, but were not getting credit. In addition, it was found that new customers found it difficult to qualify AHB as a new vendor because their quality system required surveys and site visits.
The process was quite smooth from kickoff to completion. We selected 9000 World as our consultant from among many who were qualified and within seven months our system was compliant, working well, and passed audit with no non-conformances. Our registrar is NQA.
We find the system as we have it implemented is very good for the use of driving continuous improvement. We have already generated savings and prevented or corrected issues that will help us serve our customers better. With this achievement and continued investment in our manufacturing equipment, AHB keeps on the leading edge of deep hole drilling, trepanning, honing, and machining.
