Press release date: August 13, 2012

Ambrell and Nutek Industrial Systems - part of the Ambrell Hardening Group - have created a preheating demonstration that involves heating stainless steel tubes with a robot

Scottsville, NY - Ambrell, an Ameritherm Company and a leading manufacturer of induction heating systems, is exhibiting at IMTS on September 10-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. At the event, Ambrell and Nutek Industrial Systems will have an automated induction heating demonstration in the booth.

A Fanuc small robot will pick up ½" stainless steel tubes and place them in an encapsulated coil. At that point, the tube will be heated for just over 10 seconds by an Ambrell 2kW/150-400kHz EASYHEAT induction heating system. With it preheated, it'll be removed by the robot. This is a scaled-down demonstration of a fastener preheating application. In a production environment, the preheated tube would proceed to be "hot headed" or forged.

Ambrell and Nutek Industrial Systems work together on heat treating applications as part of the Ambrell Hardening Team. The Ambrell Hardening Team includes Induction Tooling Inc, a longterm tooling and heat treating process supplier, Nutek Industrial Systems, an innovative automation specialist, and Ambrell, a provider of precision induction heating solutions. Together the team offers industry-leading heat treating solutions through a single-point of contact.

"This preheating application gives you just a glimpse into the capabilities of this team," says Tom Dickerson, Director of Sales. "If you're in search of an induction heating treating solutions, the Ambrell Hardening Team is prepared to help you achieve your goals. We look forward to speaking to companies regarding their precision heating needs at IMTS."
