Yokohama, Japan and Oslo, Norway, - Altima Corporation, the leading Japanese electronic products distributor and solution provider and Energy Micro, the energy friendly microcontroller company, today announced a distribution agreement for the ultra low power EFM®32 Gecko microcontroller product family. Established in 1991, Altima distributes an array of electronic products, ranging from semiconductors and subsystems through to software and is a provider of comprehensive design services. The company's extensive experience of working with innovative technologies combined with strong sales and technical support teams allows it to partner customers from initial product concept through to mass production.

"Today, thrifty use of power is a vital concern and we believe that Energy Micro's EFM32, with its ARM Cortex-M3 core, will be the most effective solution for those applications where ultra low energy consumption is the essential requirement", said Akinobu Miyoshi, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Altima. "Working with Energy Micro's cutting-edge technology and expertise, it is our great pleasure to offer ultra low energy solutions to customers in Japan".
