Toronto, Canada - GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) offers its Allied Telesyn compatible 100Base-FX SFP transceiver for bi-directional serial optical data communications such as SONET OC-3/SDH STM-1 and Fast Ethernet.

This high performance fiber optic transceiver, model C013PO01, is a small form factor hot pluggable module. It features a maximum operating data rate of up to 100/155 Mbps and duplex LC connectors for fiber cable connection.

This optical transceiver consists of two sections: the transmitter section uses a 1310 nm Fabrey-Perot (FP) laser; the receiver section uses an integrated InGaAs detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header and a limiting post-amplifier IC.

This transceiver operates at a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm and has a long transmission distance of up to 15 km over single-mode fiber (SMF). It provides standard AC coupled CML for high speed signal and LVTTL control and monitoring of signals. In addition, the transceiver is compliant with SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) Specification and SFF-8472.

This Allied Telesyn compatible 100Base-FX SFP transceiver belongs to GAO's family of Allied Telesyn compatible optical transceivers. This line includes a wide variety of Allied Telesyn compatible transceivers such as Allied Telesyn Compatible 1000Base-T Copper SFP Transceiver, Allied Telesyn Compatible 1000Base-ZX GBIC Transceiver which has a 1550 nm operating wavelength for single mode fiber and Allied Telesyn Compatible 100Base-EX SFP Transceiver which operates at a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm and has a long transmission distance of up to 40 km with single-mode fiber (SMF).GAO's pluggable transceivers offer a convenient and cost effective solution for use in data centers, metropolitan area access and ring networks, and storage area networks.
