BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA — From insights into revolutionary advancements that the electronics manufacturing industry will help drive to solutions to today’s manufacturing challenges, IPC APEX EXPO® 2013 provided the information, exchange and connections that helped 4,568 attendees from 42 countries prepare for the future. 425 exhibitors encompassing 130,340 sq. ft. of show floor space welcomed a busy three days of qualified leads, business development and sales. IPC APEX EXPO attracted 8,598 total visitors including attendees and exhibitor personnel.

Preliminary postshow survey feedback from attendees is very positive. More than 90 percent of respondents said the show met or exceeded their top objectives. “Attending IPC APEX was a great experience; it helped me strengthen relationships with current suppliers and exposed me to new products, new processes and new suppliers that will be helpful in the future,” said David Mitchell, engineering prototype lab manager, Lockheed Martin.

In addition, more than 75 percent of respondents have indicated that attending the show influences their buying decisions throughout the year — an important factor for many of the show’s exhibitors, like Tim Hoffman, president of Hepco. “It was the best show I’ve worked in more than 10 years. There were a very good number of new, potential customers and we were able to get valuable time with our existing customer base to further cement relationships.”

Like Hepco and other IPC APEX EXPO exhibitors, PACE also experienced a good show, “From our perspective, this year’s APEX was a smashing success and easily our most productive show in YEARS,” shared Chris Barrett, Pace director of training.  “Looking forward to the next one now!”

IPC APEX EXPO is the largest event in North America focused on the printed board and electronics manufacturing industries.

In 2014, IPC APEX EXPO moves to the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas, March 25–27. Industry researchers, engineers and academics are invited to submit an abstract for consideration in next year’s technical conference or professional development courses in the online call for participation at www.IPCAPEXEXPO.org/cfp.
