Alcoa Fastening Systems (AFS) announced today that Pierre-Emmanuel Gires has joined the company as Vice President & General Manager of its Aerospace Operations in Europe.

Gires assumes responsibility for leveraging the capabilities of AFS' European Aerospace businesses in the areas of design, customer satisfaction, quality, safety, advanced and lean manufacturing, as well as leading the European organization's organic and inorganic growth in coordination with the overall AFS strategy.

Mr. Gires comes to AFS from Snecma Services where he most recently served as Senior Vice President & General Manager, and previously as Vice President, Customer Operations. He brings to AFS over 20 years of experience in the global aerospace industry with various senior level management positions, including at Honeywell Aerospace Europe, where he held the position of Vice President, Sales & Support for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Gires holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Paris and a Master of Science in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Alcoa Fastening Systems, a business unit of Alcoa, is a leading worldwide designer and manufacturer of fastening systems including specialty fasteners, fluid fittings, assembly components, and installation systems for aerospace and commercial applications. Headquartered in Torrance, California, the company has 6,900 employees, and manufactures at 21 locations in 9 countries.
