RADNOR, PA - March 8, 2012 - Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) today announced that Doug Sherman has been named Vice President - Communications, reporting to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Michael L. Molinini. Sherman brings over 30 years of experience to this role leading the Communications team, which is responsible for supporting Airgas business strategies through the development and implementation of external and internal communications.

"Over the last ten years, Doug has gained a thorough understanding of Airgas' operations as a fully integrated gas company with an industry leading distribution platform. His knowledge of our complete business solutions for a wide range of customers, such as those in the manufacturing, energy, and medical sectors, will serve him well in his new role," said Molinini. "Doug's ability to work effectively with Airgas' various internal constituencies will enable him to create communications that support the success of our business strategies. As we develop new communications channels and enhance our existing models, Doug is well-positioned to lead the next phase of our communications with customers, associates, and other stakeholders."

Sherman has served as Director - Marketing Communications for Airgas since 2002. Prior to joining Airgas, he worked at New Holland North America, Inc. in advertising, creative services, marketing communications, and brand promotions. Sherman began his career holding various roles in advertising agencies and has a B.A. degree in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
