American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) announced adoption of ASABE/ISO 12140:2013, Agricultural machinery — Agricultural trailers and trailed equipment — Drawbar jacks, as well as withdrawal of corresponding standard ASAE S485.3, Implement Mounted, Screw-Type Jacks, on which the ISO 12140:2013 is based. ASABE Adopts Agricultural Drawbar Jacks Standard



ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN— The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) announces the adoption of ASABE/ISO 12140:2013, Agricultural machinery — Agricultural trailers and trailed equipment — Drawbar jacks.  Concurrently, ASABE has withdrawn its corresponding standard, ASAE S485.3, Implement Mounted, Screw-Type Jacks, on which the ISO 12140:2013 is based.



The actions promote harmonization of the national and international standards, a goal that facilitates manufacturing, safety advancements, and product marketing worldwide.   More than 40 ISO documents now have been nationally adopted by ASABE.

ASABE members with standards access and those with site-license privileges can access the full-text of the standard by electronic download in about a week. Location for the download is on the ASABE online Technical Library at: elibrary.asabe.org. Others can obtain a copy for a fee directly from the library or by contacting ASABE headquarters at martin@asabe.org.
