Advantech, eInfochips and Texas Instruments Collaborate to Provide HLS Protocol Stack for Developers of High-Performance Video Streaming Applications

TAIPEI, Taiwan, SUNNYVALE, Calif. and DALLAS- Advantech (TWSE: 2395.TW), eInfochips, and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) have developed the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol stack for high-performance video streaming application server deployments. This solution supports inbound and outbound transcoding, while also supporting multiple file container formats, screen resolutions and frame rates. Developed by eInfochips on Advantech's DSPC-8681 PCIe card, this solution houses four TI KeyStone-based TMS320C6678 multicore digital signal processors (DSPs).

The features of the HLS streaming solution include:

ˇ Inbound and outbound multimedia stream transcoding
ˇ Multimedia stream trans-rate capabilities
ˇ Support for multiple popular containers
ˇ Support for multiple device resolutions and frame-rates
ˇ Configurable profiles, IP network parameters and bit-rates
