Advanta Proudly Announces the Birth of ideablob.com, Where Ideas Grow

SPRING HOUSE, Pa. and SAN DIEGO, Sept. 24 / -- Advanta Corp. (Nasdaq: ADVNB; ADVNA), today announced the beta launch of a new small business innovation, ideablob.com, where small businesses and entrepreneurs can share and grow their business ideas - and have a chance to win $10,000 towards fulfilling them. It will be seen for the first time at DEMOfall 07, a premier launch venue for new products, technologies and companies.

Great ideas are generated every day by people all across the country, and now these ideas have a place to live and grow. Anyone with a good business idea can post it to ideablob.com. Then friends, family, business associates ... anyone can vote for it. Each month, the idea that gets the most votes wins $10,000!

When Amy Rydell of Amy Rydell Landscape Design was asked if she would submit her business idea to ideablob, her response was, "I'll blob. Why not? I think I've got a good idea, but I'd like to hear what others have to say about it. And the opportunity to get $10,000 for my idea? That sounds great.

"Entrepreneur and Restaurateur Kevin Clib, owner of Bridgets 8 West, a restaurant in Ambler, PA, is so excited about submitting his newest business idea on ideablob that he's passing out the personalized Web link to his idea to all his patrons in hopes they will vote for it.

"It's a win-win for me," exclaims Clib. "Not only am I confident that my customers will vote for my idea, but I'll also be able to view their comments on ideablob.com, giving me valuable feedback on the best way to move forward. And of course, if they submit their own business ideas on ideablob and win, they'll be back to celebrate at Bridgets."

Ideablob itself was just a seed of an idea a few months ago when Ami Kassar, Advanta's Chief Innovation Officer, saw an impressive animated film presentation given by a talented artist at a business conference. Kassar wondered what $10,000 in seed money would do for her business and what Advanta could do to help people realize their dreams.

"There are approximately 30 million small businesses in the U.S.," said Kassar. "These small businesses need a place to grow and share their ideas, and ideablob will be that place. It also gives potential business owners a chance to 'try out' their new ideas among other entrepreneurial types in a supportive and encouraging environment."

Advanta is proud to have been selected to debut ideablob.com at the exclusive DEMOfall 07 conference in San Diego.

"DEMO is all about companies launching new ideas. How could we not include a new Web site dedicated entirely to growing and sharing new ideas?" said DEMO Executive Producer Chris Shipley. "Ideablob is definitely setting an important new trend!"
