Poway, CA - 12/2/2010 - Advanced Machining & Tooling, Inc. (AMT) www.amtmfg.com has been awarded a 2009 Supplier Excellence Award by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI). In a presentation made at AMT's facility in late October, GA-ASI Purchasing Supervisor Vicki Naish and Supplier Administrator Mike McWilliams presented AMT's CEO Terry Deane with a crystal award. GA-ASI recognized AMT's "outstanding quality and delivery performance" for 2009 while providing complex machined components in support of Predator-series Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Every one of AMT's 43 employees was impressed with the GA-ASI presentation and understands the significance of exceeding GA-ASI's exacting requirements.
AMT has produced over 50 different precision components fabricated from titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, and Inconel in support of the Predator-series UAS product line.
GA-ASI is a leading designer and manufacturer of the Predator A, Predator B/MQ-9 Reaper, Gray Eagle, and Predator C Avenger UAS. These reliable aircraft systems have proven to be valuable reconnaissance assets for the War on Terrorism, as well as providing critical border surveillance in the United States.
