NORWOOD, MASSACHUSETTS, USA, October 2, 2008 -- Advanced Instruments, Inc., of Norwood, Massachusetts, announced today that it has acquired 100% of the shares of D & F Control Systems, Inc., of Dublin, CA. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

D & F Control Systems manufactures and markets milk preservative products and somatic cell dyes for laboratories around the world. Their patented preservatives ensure component analysis accuracy through a neutralized absorbency formula, purity of ingredients and long-term stability. The tablet dye product provides laboratory technicians with a safer, economical and easier method for making stock dye solutions.

Advanced Instruments is a major supplier to the dairy industry, providing instrumentation for cryoscopy, pasteurization confirmation, component analysis and somatic cell counting. The company provides products that are internationally recognized as benchmarks for performance.
