GLEN ROCK, Pa. (January 31, 2011) - Adhesives Research, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesives, tapes, specialty coatings, films, and laminates, is pleased to announce the promotion of Brian Harkins to research scientist.
Harkins began his career at Adhesives Research in 2000 and collectively has eight years of service, most recently as the company's product development chemist in the electronics R&D group. In this position, his technical focus was directed toward electrically conductive PSA systems, developing products used in the handheld device and solar industries. Harkins has been instrumental in the establishment of specialized testing methods and geometries for AR conductive PSA programs and applications.
Harkins received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry and three years towards his Master of Business Administration from York College of Pennsylvania. Harkins previously worked for Sovereign Specialty Chemicals of Buffalo, N.Y., as a development chemist responsible for the development and technical servicing of radiation curablecoatings and laminating adhesives for the flexible packaging group and the Henkel Corporation, Buffalo, N.Y., as lead development chemist overseeing the flexible packaging, paper converting, and the graphic arts divisions.
