Press release date: October 24, 2006

LIVERMORE, Calif.----Oct. 24, 2006--Adept Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADEP), the leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, will be showcasing the world's fastest commercial robot in their booth at the Pack Expo 2006 show in Chicago, IL.

The Adept designated "Quattro" Drive robot was designed specifically for part picking and packaging applications. Quattro drive will deliver the highest speed and lowest cost, pick-per-minute, extended part size and weight capacity and a much larger work envelope than currently available from competitive Delta, Cartesian, articulated and SCARA class robotics.

"Adept controls have been incorporated into most commercial Delta robots," said Robert Bucher, CEO of Adept Technology, Inc. "Adept has the largest installed base of vision guided robots especially when combined with part conveyers and belts. Adept is the most successful SCARA robot in the packaging industry. The new Quattro drive combines this experience with Adept innovation. We think that Pack Expo is an excellent venue for previewing this robot. It will change the standard for automation performance in the packaging marketplace."
