Press release date: April 6, 2010

Live Demonstrations of Human Interaction with Robots Using the First iPad Interface and Brain Wave Activity to be Displayed at the Stanford Robot Block Party and Adept Open House

Pleasanton, Calif. - Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today announced it will be exploring the possibilities with its theme of robot- human collaboration during the National Robotic Week events next week in the Bay Area. Adept will host its Robots In Action Open House April 16, 2010, which follows the Robot Block Party on April 14, 2010 at Stanford University in support of National Robotics Week.

Adept will apply this year's event theme of "explore the possibilities" to the interaction between people and mechatronics and the new paradigm of robot control. Adept's open house will feature demonstrations of how robotics is advancing and expanding the man/machine connection. It plans to feature demonstrations of robots being controlled by human brain activity, the new iPad® combined with applications in the cloud and gaming interfaces, including the Wii® and haptic technology.

"Robotics as we understand them today are on the cusp of significant changes being driven by technologies outside of the industry," said John Dulchinos, president and CEO of Adept Technology, Inc. "The way in which robots consume information via cloud computing, learn from the environment, process tremendous amounts of information to determine action, and permit real-time control is altering the way robots are valued and deployed in new applications. The fact that much of this change is being driven by innovation and thought leadership within the United States makes an event like National Robotics Week all the more exciting."

The United States Congress recently designated the second week of April as "National Robotics Week". The Bay Area event schedule kicks off with Young Innovators Day at the Tech Museum in San Jose on Sunday, April 11, 2010, followed by the Robot Block Party at Stanford University (in Paul Brest Hall behind the Law School) on April 14, 2010. Adept will be hosting their open house event from 10 am to 5 pm on April 16, 2010 at their headquarters in Pleasanton, California. More information on Adept's Robot in Action Open House can be found at http://www.adept.com/nrw.
