Adept Technology to Demonstrate Advanced Packaging Solution Adept PAC(TM) at SCANPACK Exhibition in Gothenburg

Adept Technology, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and a leader in robotic packaging automation and global robotics services, today announced it will be demonstrating its new Packaging Automation Cell, Adept PAC(TM) at the Scanpack trade show in Gothenburg, Sweden October 23-26, 2012 on its booth F00:13 in hall F. The company's booth demonstrations will highlight enabling technology that allows manufacturers to ramp up production with solutions that are easy to implement and deploy.

Adept's Packaging Automation Cell, Adept PAC is designed to reduce the cost and complexity of automating packaging for food processors. Adept PAC reduces the total cost of ownership by delivering a standardized, fully-integrated solution that can be dropped into any production line.

"Adept Technology is very pleased to have the opportunity to present the Adept PAC Packaging Automation Cell for the first time at Scanpack," says Mr. Joachim Melis, Vice President of Business Development at Adept Technology. Mr. Melis, along with the rest of Adept's Germany-based team have prepared an exciting show presence with an Adept PAC in a continuously-running demonstration at their booth.

Key to the unique design of Adept PAC solutions are the new SoftPIC(TM) grippers and graspers. Adept selects the ideal SoftPIC grippers or graspers specifically for each customer's range of products. Made of soft silicone that conforms to the shape of the product, SoftPIC grippers provide a direct vacuum path to the product, helping the system achieve gentle handling and reliable operation at very high speeds. For lines that package multiple product sizes and/or designs, the SoftPIC grippers can be changed in less than two minutes.

Adept will hold a press conference at its booth F00:13 in hall F on Wednesday, 24 October at 2 pm.
