Adept Quattro s650HS Robot Brings World Class Performance to Hygienic Food Handling Applications such as Meat, Poultry and Seafood.

PLEASANTON, Calif., October 26, 2009- Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today announced its new USDA accepted robot for high speed food handling, the Adept Quattro(TM) s650HS, will be showcased at the Worldwide Food Expo in Chicago, Illinois in Harpak, Inc.'s booth # N1630 October 28 - 31, 2009. The Quattro s650HS is the only USDA accepted parallel robot available for food processing.

"The new Adept Quattro s650HS is designed to offer food manufacturers the highest speed food handling solution available while meeting the stringent cleanliness and hygienic standards adhered to by industries such as meat, poultry and seafood," said Rush LaSelle, director of global sales and marketing for Adept Technology, Inc. "We invite attendees to visit the Harpak booth where they will see how flexible automation is employed in processing systems and meet with Adept and Harpak engineers to discuss how automated solutions can address their specific needs."

"The USDA accepted robot's speed, flexibility and performance will give food and beverage handlers the competitive edge they need to compete in an increasingly challenging economy," said Charlie Harlfinger, chief executive officer for Harpak, Inc. "Together with Adept high performance products and our 30 plus years of experience in the industry we can offer the food industry the highest performance solutions to any handling challenge."

The Adept Quattro s650HS is the industry's only parallel robot with USDA acceptance for primary food handling. The Quattro is now also available with an optional fixed platform addressing high payload applications. The Quattro line is specifically designed for high-speed manufacturing, packaging, material handling, and assembly applications. The Quattro differs from conventional parallel robots in that it features a four-arm kinematic. This unique design enables higher speeds, faster accelerations, and industry leading performance across the entire work envelope. Powerful compact controls and embedded amplifiers make installation easy while reducing workspace requirements. The speed and precision of Quattro make it the perfect choice for flexible packaging, material handling, kitting, and assembly applications where performance is of paramount consideration.

The Worldwide Food Expo is the world's largest food & beverage technology event in North America. The expo features two co-located events: the AMI International Meat, Poultry & Seafood Industry Convention and Exposition and the IDFA Food, Dairy & Beverage Expo. The event brings the entire industry together to preview new technology and new ideas, and build relationships that will grow their business. Educational sessions will showcase food safety and regulation, sustainability, and market trends. More information can be found on the event website at http://www.worldwidefood.com.
