New Paradigm Challenges Logistics "Status Quo" With On-Demand Material Transport Systems

PLEASANTON, Calif. - Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent robots and autonomous mobile solutions, announced that they will be demonstrating groundbreaking new automated solutions for material handling and logistics to MODEX show attendees in their Booth 4228 at Atlanta's Georgia World Congress Center from February 6 -- 9, 2012. More information is available at http://go.adept.com/modex2012.

At MODEX 2012, Adept will challenge the idea that facilities must undergo large, and often prohibitive infrastructure investment to set-up and deploy material handling systems. Adept's mobile technology contests the traditional paradigm that automating the movement of goods introduces the associated limitations of linear processes. Using mobile products from Adept empowers adopters to increase their use of lean methodologies for material handling with improved returns on their capital investment.

"Adept is pleased to now be a member of the MHIA where its technology will be an enabler for the organization's community of manufacturing, distribution, logistics, and supply chain professionals," says Rush LaSelle, vice president and general manager of mobile robots. "We look forward to introducing Adept's mobile products and solutions to MODEX attendees in Atlanta and becoming an increasingly active member of the MHIA."

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce and Bureau of Labor Statistics, material handling and logistics is one of America's largest and fastest growing industries. The consumption of material handling and logistics equipment and systems in America currently exceeds $156 billion per year, and producers employ in excess of 700,000 workers.

Adept Technology is now a member of the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), the largest U.S. material handling & logistics association representing the leading providers of material handling & logistics solutions.
