Aculight Corporation Names Kenneth Bean Director of Manufacturing Operations

Bothell, Wash., June 19, 2006 - Aculight Corporation, a leading developer of innovative laser technologies, has named Kenneth Bean its Director of Manufacturing Operations.
"Ken Bean brings Aculight tremendous experience in manufacturing and operations at the executive level," said Don Rich, Aculight president and CEO. "This includes expertise in areas such as lean manufacturing and paperless production floors
- many of the things that Aculight is encountering in our development as a laser products company. He has also achieved ISO certifications at several facilities, including Aculight in October 2005. Aculight is striving to become a world-leader in the aerospace/defense and medical laser markets. Ken Bean's appointment is a great example of how we're bringing in talented people and putting the infrastructure in place to get us there."
Bean joined Aculight from BBP, Inc., where he was founder and president of this start-up venture specializing in heads-up display (HUD) systems. Prior, Bean was vice president of manufacturing for the optical equipment maker Terabeam, Inc. At Terabeam, Ken developed the company's manufacturing strategy and led the organization from low-volume prototyping to high-volume production. Bean has also been senior vice president of operations for P-Com, Inc., and held key positions with TRW, Eaton Corporation, Gamma Microwave, Avantek Computer Ltd.
(a division of Hewlett Packard), and Memorex's consumer products division.
Bean is an active member of the American Electronics Association. He has given numerous lectures on ISO 9000 implementation. He received his bachelor's in industrial studies with a business minor from San Jose State University.
