Access Fixtures has expanded its line of T5 lighting products, enabling clients to improve light quality, save energy, and reduce cost

WORCESTER, Mass. - Access Fixtures today announced the expansion of its energy saving T5 product line. Access Fixtures now offers a comprehensive range of T5 light fixtures including four and six lamp T5 high bay lights fixtures, T5 vapor proof light fixtures, and T5 troffers. The new T5 light fixtures are made and assembled in the United States.

"The payback on T5 light fixtures comes in the form of reduced energy consumption, reduced maintenance cost, and superior light quality," said Access Fixtures CEO, Steven Rothschild. "For offices, warehouses, parking garages and many manufacturing applications, T5 lighting is a great solution since T5 is low cost and the energy savings are so significant."

T5 lighting is changing the lighting industry by providing significant energy savings compared to older linear fluorescent technologies, including T12 and T8. T5 lighting emits more light per lamp. The light output of one T5HO lamp is the equivalent of two T8 Lamps. Switching from T8 to T5 reduces the number of lamps required by 50%, significantly reducing lamp replacement and maintenance costs. Also the number of lamps which must be recycled at end of their life is cut in half, adding further environmental benefits.

T5 lighting exclusively uses electronic ballasts that are smaller and lighter weight than electromagnetic ballasts. These ballasts also increase system efficiency by reducing power consumption, while eliminating ballast hum and strobe. T5 exclusively uses programmed start which extends the life of the lamps, and works well with motion detectors and frequent on-off cycles. Another benefit of T5 is it has a color rendering index of 85, which is very high. Superior CRI makes products and surroundings appear to have more true and brilliant color. This is 17% better than standard T8 and 37% better than T12.
