Academic Library High Density System with Hybria Shelving
Storage Systems USA recently completed an academic library installation with over 14 miles of Montel Hybria shelving on mobile carriages. The college and the design team selected this system because Montel was able to store more books in less floor space than conventional cantilever shelving on mobile carriages. Within the three floors of compact shelving, the Hybria shelving allowed the college to add an additional 32 mobile carriages to the initial design and layout. The students and staff will access the books utilizing mechanical assist controls with mechanical safety sweeps that protect both the users and the stored materials.Â
