Abstract Submissions Now Being Accepted for LabAutomation2011 Podium and Poster Presentations



Submission Deadline is August 9, 2010

CHICAGO - The non-profit Association for Laboratory Automation (ALA) invites research scientists, engineers and business leaders to accelerate breakthroughs in laboratory automation strategies and technologies by submitting abstracts for podium and poster presentations at the LabAutomation2011 Conference and Exhibition, January 29-February 2, 2011 in Palm Springs, CA, USA.

ALA encourages academicians, scientists, engineers, business leaders, and post-docs or graduate students to present information featuring innovation in research and discovery involving laboratory automation and technologies. Abstract focus areas include the following tracks:

o Detection and Separation

o Micro- and Nanotechnologies

o High-Throughput Technologies

o Informatics

o Evolving Applications of Laboratory Automation, featuring Agriculture and Food

In addition to these educational tracks, the Scientific Committee Chair and Associate Chair will review all submissions and may select some abstracts for presentation that may not necessarily align with the conference tracks noted. Abstract submissions will be accepted across a wide range of industries, including:

o Drug Discovery and Development

o Clinical Diagnostics

o Agriculture and Food

o Forensics and Security

o Energy Generation and Petrochemicals

o And More...

Those submissions selected to be part of the world's top 100 podium presentations on laboratory automation will be eligible for the prestigious annual ALA Innovation Award, a $10,000 cash prize given to the most exceptional podium presentation at the LabAutomation conference. Additionally this year for LabAutomation2011, ALA Innovation Award finalists will have the possibility of being selected as an elite guest presenter to showcase their work at the 25th Chemtech World Expo, Bombay Exposition Centre, Mumbai, India, February, 23-26, 2011, featuring more than 40,000 participants. Guest presenters will be provided with air travel to and from Mumbai, along with hotel accommodations, and a modest per diem.

All LabAutomation2011 abstracts will be reviewed by ALA's Scientific Committee. The abstract submission deadline is August 9, 2010.

The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS)

Effective July 1, 2010, two premier organizations, the Society for Biomolecular Sciences (SBS) and the Association for Laboratory Automation (ALA) will unite as Sections of the newly formed Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS). LabAutomation2011 will progress as planned as the event of the Laboratory Automation Section of SLAS.
