April 23, 2010 - AWWA has announced 4 new scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in working in the water industry. Scholarship program was developed as an opportunity for AWWA and its partners to help water community prepare for projected workforce shortage over next 10 years, by supporting students who have shown an interest in the industry. Each of the scholarships will award selected student five thousand dollars. Application deadline is May 10, 2010.

(DENVER, CO) - The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has announced four new scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in working in the water industry. The application deadline for these is May 10, 2010.

The scholarship program was developed as an opportunity for AWWA and its partners to help the water community prepare for a projected workforce shortage over the next ten years, by supporting students who have shown an interest in the industry. The scholarships are available to students pursuing higher education degrees in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Scholarship sponsors include American Water, Black & Veatch, Malcolm Pirnie, and MWH. Each of the scholarships will award the selected student five thousand dollars. Winners will be announced by June 1, and will be publicly recognized at AWWA's Annual Conference (ACE10) later that month.
