(Denver) - The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has announced the publication of the fifth edition of Plain Talk About Drinking Water. About the Author:

Plain Talk about Drinking Water is based on the work of Dr. James M. Symons, who has written more than 100 technical articles on drinking water and related subjects. He has received eight national awards for his research and publications.

In addition to serving as the Cullen Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering, University of Houston, Symons is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, and a lifetime member of the American Water Works Association.

The fifth edition is edited by Gay Porter De Nileon. Contributing editors are Allen Panek and Jacqueline R. Glover.
