AVT Presents Cameras for Scientific Imaging at Laser World of Photonics

Comprehensive product line with cooled, IR-sensitive, and high-resolution cameras for demanding applications.

In keeping with the motto “Scientific Solutions", Allied Vision Technologies will present its offering of high-performance digital cameras for scientific imaging at Laser World of Photonics. From May 13 to16 2013, visitors to Messe München can discover the latest in camera technology at the AVT booth.

Bigeye - CCD cameras with active cooling and GigE Vision interface

The Bigeye camera family is distinguished by its active Peltier cooling, enabling particularly low-noise images with long exposure times, which makes it especially well suited for low-light applications, such as microscopy or astronomy. The Bigeye is available with sensors from 1.3 to 11 megapixels and is equipped with a GigE Vision interface. Models with optional increased sensitivity in the NIR range are also available.

The newest member of the Bigeye family is the Bigeye G-283 Cool. It comes equipped with a highly sensitive 2.8 megapixel SonyICX674 sensor with EXView HAD II CCD technology and 4.54 µm pixel pitch.

Thanks to its high quantum efficiency and 14-bits per pixel bit depth, this camera offers scientists the ability to visualize fine details with comparatively high resolution. Using pixel binning, sensitivity can be increased by a factor of 4. Moreover, its low-noise design and integrated Peltier cooling make exposure times far exceeding 60 minutes possible.

Goldeye - making the invisible visible with SWIR cameras

Goldeye is AVT’s camera family for the short-wave infrared (SWIR) range. With InGaAs sensors, these cameras are sensitive from 900 to 1700 nm, allowing inspection of objects outside of the visible spectrum. Goldeye cameras are suited for many imaging applications such as spectroscopy, semiconductor inspection, or detection of water content within different objects, including plants and fruit. Goldeye is available with Gigabit Ethernet or the optional Camera Link interface.

Pearleye - thermal imaging cameras in the long-wave infrared range AVT’s Pearleye camera series, with microbolometer sensors, is sensitive in the spectral range from 8 to 14 µm. Thanks to temperature stabilization with the aid of a Peltier module, Pearleye can reliably depict temperature differences below 80 mK. Thus, this series is tailor-made for precise laser beam measurements and other demanding thermal imaging applications.

High-resolution CCD cameras up to 29 megapixels

In addition, Allied Vision Technologies will present its newest high-resolution camera models for the visible spectrum at Laser World of Photonics. These include the compact Manta G-917 with a 9-megapixel EXView HAD II CCD sensor from Sony, as well as new Prosilica GT models with

12-, 16- and 29-megapixel resolution. With high sensitivity and low noise, AVT’s high-resolution cameras document scientific results with high precision and detailed accuracy, whether in microscopy or in other application fields.

Allied Vision Technologies will present this wide variety of camera technologies, alongside select applications, in Munich at a new, modern booth where visitors can meet with our camera and applications experts.
