IRVINE, Calif., July 10 / - ATEN Technology, Inc., an innovator of high-quality KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity products to centrally manage servers, network devices and IT infrastructure, today announced that its diverse product line of professional audio/video switches, splitters and extenders are ideal solutions for the booming digital signage market. Digital signage is a relatively new method of electronic advertising that is optimized for retail environments, public venues, corporate offices and a range of other marketing purposes.

According to iSuppli, the leader in market research and analysis of the display and semiconductor industries, the global market for retail digital signage displays is expected to grow to $1.7 billion by 2010, up from $1.4 billion in 2006.

"Our ATEN multimedia switches, splitters and extenders are truly aligned to the needs of organizations that are embracing the digital signage market," said Miranda Su, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, ATEN Technology. "Companies searching for digital signage solutions can look no further than our highly advanced and reliable professional video and audio products."

ATEN customers are optimizing its products for their digital signage needs including Sherlock Systems, a Buffalo Grove, IL hardware IT integration company that develops custom-built systems for specialized software applications and PC-based control devices. The company installs ATEN video products for its customers that need to pipe video to multiple monitors as well as extending it past normal video lengths. According to Dave Sallander, president of Sherlock Systems: "With ATEN's digital signage products, such as the matrix video switch and extenders, we can address our clients' needs to display specialized video content throughout their offices, while simultaneously easing cable management. Specifically, we are in the process of installing ATEN's video products to support more than 15 video screens at a large property development firm that is displaying sales content in a variety formats including JPEG, flash and video.

Available now, ATEN Technology's professional multimedia products that address this market include the following:

As further market validation, RocSearch Ltd., notes the following in its report titled Digital Signage Market: Global Perspective: "The advent of large-scale dynamic signage networks powered by the converging technologies of computing and broadcasting allows retailers, government agencies, marketing and entertainment companies, and many other organizations to cost-effectively 'narrowcast' dynamic video, graphical and editorial content on hundreds, or even thousands, of digital signage displays located virtually anywhere."

"ATEN is poised to capitalize on this emerging market space with our scalable digital signage products," added Ms. Su.
