AT&T Makes Play to Snag Growing Crowds of Gamers with Launch of New 'AT&T blue room gaming'

SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 9 -- Flexing its bandwidth in the exploding online gaming industry, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced the launch of AT&T blue room gaming, a portal designed to serve up exclusive gaming content from previews of upcoming releases to new angles on retro favorites.

AT&T blue room gaming, available at www.attblueroom.com/gaming , provides gamers with access to exclusive interviews with gaming insiders, reviews and expert commentary, tips, tricks and codes, downloads and more. Currently, site content includes:

An exclusive Tips & Tricks webisode series giving gamers the best strategies and cheats for favorite games. Behind-the-scenes interviews with developers for highly anticipated titles, including Halo 3, NBA 2K7 and more. Expert commentary on "Old Skool" games, such as Frogger, Pac-Man and Galaga. Gaming image downloads and screen shots.

Additionally, visitors to AT&T blue room gaming have an exclusive chance to enter to win a customized PC and one of 10 copies of "Dark Messiah Might and Magic," one of the hottest Ubisoft titles of the season.

Playing games using an Internet connection is a booming trend, with the market expected to reach $4.4 billion by 2010, according to recent research by Parks Associates. That study also found that PC gamers spend more hours per week gaming than console gamers, playing an average of 18.5 hours weekly versus 13.6 hours weekly, respectively. Of the 117 million active gamers in the United States, 56 percent play games online, according to a July 2006 Nielsen Entertainment survey.

"Gaming is mainstream, and AT&T blue room gaming will help us show off our industry-leading broadband offerings and deliver valuable gaming content in an engaging and relevant way to this fast-growing and influential group," said Dan York, head of programming, AT&T.

Gamers with an instantly available, dedicated broadband line have an advantage over their competitors with slower connections.

AT&T blue room gaming is part of the AT&T blue room ( www.attblueroom.com/ ), which brings together tailgaters, music fans, gaming enthusiasts, and even the celebrity-obsessed through a single online portal housing AT&T's exclusive sports, music, gaming and entertainment content. Launched in October 2006, the new AT&T blue room gives fans access to live performances, candid interviews, celebrity-athletes, and unedited commentary on everything from music to politics to celebrities as part of a strategic initiative to link the AT&T brand to premier communications and entertainment experiences. The site will also help fuel sales and demonstrate how key products and services, such as AT&T Yahoo!® High Speed Internet and Cingular Wireless, can meet the increasing consumer demands for value, choice and convenience.
