W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., -The 2011 ASTM International Symposium on Rolling Element Bearings will be held April 13-14 at the Marriott Anaheim in Anaheim, Calif. The symposium, the seventh in a series that proposes the exchange of information on bearing technology at the international level, is being sponsored by ASTM Committee F34 on Rolling Element Bearings and is being held in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the committee. The goal of this symposium is to provide an international forum for the exchange of information on recent achievements in bearing technology. The symposium will begin with a series of papers presented by leading experts in their field followed by discussions on the subject of testing methods and specifications (F34 Committee). An international array of authors will present various topics covering five main areas of focus, all fields of interest that effect bearing specialists: bearing materials, tribology, bearing analysis, bearing testing methods and applications. The symposium will be held in conjunction with a Bearing Technology Exhibit, which will consist of a series of displays of different products representing the latest advances in bearings, manufacturing capabilities, materials, products that influence bearings, etc. Visit the symposium Web page for a list of list of companies that will be exhibiting (www.astm.org/F34symp0411.htm). Online registration opens approximately eight weeks before the workshop and closes April 6. The fees to attend the workshop are as follows: ASTM members: $425 USD for online registration and $475 USD for onsite registration; and non-ASTM members: $450 USD for online registration and $500 USD for onsite registration. For DOD registrants there is special fee of $250 USD online and $300 USD on site. There is no fee for presenters and students with a valid ID.
