ASTM International's Workshop on Fracture Mechanics-Based Life Prediction for Fatigue Cracks will be held May 19, 2010, in St. Louis, MO. It will provide forum for advancing understanding of fracture mechanics-based life predictions for fatigue cracks under load. Emphasis will be on developing ASTM guideline for software validation of analyses of surface cracks in monotonic or cyclic loading. Online registration opens 8 weeks before workshop and closes May 12, 2010.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - A Workshop on Fracture Mechanics-Based Life Prediction for Fatigue Cracks will be held May 19, 2010, at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand and Suites Hotel in St. Louis, Mo. Sponsored by ASTM Committee E08 on Fatigue and Fracture and its Subcommittee E08.04 on Structural Applications, the workshop will be held in conjunction with the May 17-20 standards development meetings of the committee.
The workshop will provide a forum for furthering the understanding of fracture mechanics-based life predictions for fatigue cracks under load, with a special emphasis on developing the basis of an ASTM guideline for software validation of analyses of surface cracks in monotonic or cyclic loading.
Online registration opens approximately eight weeks before the workshop and closes May 12, 2010. The fee to attend the workshop for both ASTM members and non-members is $50 USD for online registration and $75 USD for onsite registration. There is no fee for presenters and students with a valid I.D.
