W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., 24 November 2008-Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), a two-day hands-on class from ASTM International, gives an overview of the ASTM Standard Guide for PCAs: Baseline Property Condition Assessment Process (E2018) and explains why the standard was developed. The course also guides attendees on how to use the standard to conduct a baseline property condition assessment and how to prepare a Property Condition Report (PCR).

Participants will learn procedures for conducting a walk-through survey; which key areas should be included in a PCR; how to establish reasonable expectations for PCRs; how to identify a property's physical deficiencies; and how to read a PCR.

The course is scheduled for the following dates and locations during 2009:
April 28-29 New Orleans, La.
June 2-3 Chicago, Ill.
Sept. 29-30 Las Vegas, Nev.
Nov. 17-18 Orlando, Fla.

The course is intended for commercial property purchasers, potential tenants, owners, existing or potential mortgagees, lenders, property managers and those who conduct PCAs and prepare PCRs. The professionals teaching the course are contributors to the development of the PCA standard and members of ASTM Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment.

The $895 attendance fee includes a copy of ASTM E2018, course notes and refreshment breaks. Participants will earn 1.5 continuing education units.
