W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-ASTM International, known worldwide for its 13,000+ technical standards and its thousands of related publications, is launching two new journals: Advances in Civil Engineering Materials (ACEM) and Materials Performance and Characterization (MPC).

Advances in Civil Engineering Materials (ACEM) publishes high quality articles on the properties and performance of materials such as concrete, asphalt, steel, polymers and polymeric composites, and wood for use in pavements, bridges and buildings, and other related applications.

Materials Performance and Characterization (MPC) seeks articles about both the theoretical and practical aspects of the structure, processing, properties and performance of materials used in mechanical, transportation, aerospace, energy systems and medical devices. These materials include metals and alloys, glass and ceramics, polymers, composite materials, textiles and nanomaterials.

Advances in Civil Engineering Materials and Materials Performance and Characterization are peer-reviewed and online only. Both journals are currently seeking original technical papers, review papers and technical notes.

All papers submitted for publication to ASTM International go through a meticulous process of peer-review and editing to ensure the highest quality information available. A total of 17 papers have already been posted and additional papers will be added throughout the year. In addition, both journals will also feature special issues focusing on particularly important topics in each of these rapidly changing fields.
