ASTM International Sponsors December Workshop on Fuel Corrosivity



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-Fuel Corrosivity Workshop II will be held Dec. 8 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, La. Sponsored by ASTM International Committee D02 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants, the workshop will be held in conjunction with the committee's standards development meetings.

The Fuel Corrosivity II Workshop follows the first successful Fuel Corrosivity Workshop, which was held July 29, 2010, in Kansas City, Mo. The general objective of the workshop is to hold a technical forum hosted by a panel of industry experts to discuss the corrosivity and material compatibility aspects of petroleum and alternative liquid fuels on materials that comprise storage systems, distribution systems, dispensing systems and vehicle fuel systems. Some speakers from the first Fuel Corrosivity Workshop will return with new updated industry information.

The target audience for this workshop includes federal government; U.S. EPA; U.S. Department of Transportation; various branches of the U.S. military; automotive (gasoline and diesel) manufacturers; National Biodiesel Board members; Renewable Fuels Association members; Steel Tank Institute members; Fiberglass Tank and Pipe Institute; petroleum equipment industry, manufactures, distributors and installers (Petroleum Equipment Institute), Underwriters Laboratories, Technology and Maintenance Council-American Trucking Association; and NACE International members.
