ASTM International Honors Dan Edwards with Kenneth J. Boedecker Jr. Distinguished Service Award



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., -ASTM International Committee A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products has presented Dan Edwards, director of technical resources at Big R Bridge in Colleyville, Texas, with the Kenneth J. Boedecker Jr. Distinguished Service Award for his exceptional service to the committee and its subcommittees.

Edwards, who joined ASTM International in 1987, works on several A05 subcommittees and also serves on Committees B07 on Light Metals and Alloys and F17 on Plastic Piping Systems.

Edwards began his career at Caldwell Culvert Co., where he started as a sales engineer and eventually rose to the position of vice president/chief engineer. He then worked at Contech Construction Products Inc. as a geosynthetic specialist, and as chief engineer at the National Corrugated Steel Pipe Association before joining Big R Bridge in 2007. He specializes in corrugated pipe drainage systems and structural plate bridge structures.

In addition to ASTM International, Edwards serves on Committee AFF70 of the Transportation Research Board and he is a member of the Flexible Culvert Liaison Committee of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). He holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Ark.
