ASTM International Committee on Petroleum Products and Lubricants Presents Award of Merit to Stanford P. Seto



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., - Engineer Stanford P. Seto of Belcan Engineering Corp. in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been honored with the ASTM International Award of Merit and title of fellow, the highest organizational recognition for individual contributions to ASTM standards activities.

ASTM International Committee D02 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants recognized Seto, who has been an ASTM member since 1994, for his outstanding contributions to the committee and for his work as chairman of Subcommittee D02.J0 on Aviation Fuels. As chair of Subcommittee D02.J0, he has been a major contributor to important D02 standards for aviation turbine fuels and fuel additives, including the recent revision to ASTM D7566, Specification for Aviation Turbine Fuel Containing Synthesized Hydrocarbons.

A specialist in aerodynamic design and the performance and development of aviation gas turbine engines for flight, Seto has been with Belcan Engineering Corp. since 2002. Prior to that, he was a combustion design engineer and manager at GE Aviation in Evendale, Ohio, for 37 years. He retired from GE in 2001.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnatti, where he earned a master's degree in engineering, Seto also holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He holds seven patents and was professional engineer in the state of Ohio.
