Charles Naegele Receives ASTM International Award for Contributions to Fence Standards



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.—Charles Naegele, P.E., owner and principal of Allied Consulting Inc. in Clarks Summit, Pa., has received the Jerry W. Gambrell Memorial Award from ASTM International Committee F14 on Fences.



Established in 2005, the Jerry W. Gambrell Memorial Award is presented for outstanding contributions and leadership in the development of fence standards. Naegele was honored for his exemplary leadership and technical support while serving as chairman of Subcommittee F14.40 on Chain Link Fence and Wire Accessories. In addition to F14, Naegele also works on ASTM Committees A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products, D18 on Soil and Rock, E50 on Environmental Risk Management and Corrective Action, E54 on Homeland Security Applications and F33 on Detention and Correctional Facilities.



Naegele began Allied Consulting after the sale of his company, Allied Fence Manufacturing, where he was an owner, president and CEO, in 2000. Prior to that, he served as president of Northeast Utilities, Clarks Summit, Pa., and vice president of Northeastern Fence Manufacturing, Scranton, Pa. His consulting activities include environmental services, forensic evaluations, perimeter security and business valuations. He also represents manufacturers that specialize in wire and chain link fence products.



A graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, N.J., where he received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Naegele is a professional engineer in the state of Pennsylvania.
